Accessibility statement

Our commitment to making the website and the case portals usable by everyone.

We want every detective, and every grown-up who helps them, to be able to use Classified Cases. This statement covers our public website and our case portals.

Our goal

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across our website and portals.

What we do

  • Keyboard navigation with a skip link and visible focus outlines on every page
  • Text alternatives for images, and decorative illustrations hidden from screen readers
  • Colour contrast checked for text and controls, in light and dark themes
  • Respect for your device's reduced-motion setting
  • Large touch targets and plain-language instructions in the case portals, with tap-to-answer missions in our Starter cases
  • Pages that work when zoomed to 200% and on small screens

The physical kits

Case materials are printed in clear, high-contrast type. If your detective needs a larger-print or digital copy of a printed document, contact us and we'll do our best to provide one.

Known limitations

Some evidence is visual by nature, like photographs and maps, and certain puzzles rely on looking closely at an image. Where we can, we provide descriptions; where a puzzle depends on sight, the parent view explains it so a grown-up can help.

Feedback

If you find a barrier on our website, in a case portal or in a kit, please tell us at us through our contact form or through our contact form. We read every report and aim to respond within five business days.
