About us
We make mysteries you can hold
Classified Cases started with a simple idea: the best mysteries for kids aren't read, they're solved. With real evidence on the kitchen table and a case that waits for them to work it out.
Why mail-order mysteries?
Screens are good at many things, but they're not good at the thrill of tearing open a box addressed to you, or holding a clue up to the light. Books are wonderful, but someone else always solves the case. We wanted both: real objects to handle and a story where the kid is the detective.
So every Classified Cases mystery is built twice. Once as a set of physical evidence, mailed in stages, and once as a private online portal written for that story, with records to search, reports to file and a culprit to name.
How every case is built
Fair play, always
Every answer can be found in the evidence. We map each clue to the question it answers, and we test that a careful kid can get there without guessing.
Playtested by real kids
Cases go through playtests with detectives in the target age range before they ship, and we rewrite whatever confuses them.
Safe by default
No real personal data from kids, no chat, no ads. Parents hold the account and the answers.
What we care about
- Kids doing the thinking, not watching someone else do it
- Grown-ups as partners, with the tools to help
- Stories that respect kids' intelligence
- Privacy that doesn't need a settings page
